500 tons of humanitarian aid for Donbass residents in 2015

More than 500 tons of the humanitarian
aid collected by the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) were delivered to the
residents of Donbass in 2015; nearly 100 thousand people in Donbass received
food in the social canteens of ROC, reports on Tuesday Synodal Department for
Church relations with society and mass media.
Since the end of December, 2014 with
blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill the staff of Synodal
Department for Charity started regular trips to the Donbass region. According
to the Patriarchy, over this time more than 573 tons of humanitarian aid have
been transferred there.
‘As of December, 2015, food and hot lunches in the church social canteens were provided to more than 97 thousand people, many of these people were in the extremely difficult financial situation. The Church aid was received by the needy residents of Gorlovka, Donetsk, Lugansk and Severodonetsk dioceses,’ says the text of the press release.
